Monte Sano Directory in Works

The next edition of the Monte Sano Directory is now being prepared.  Please complete the ONLINE FORM (even if your previous entry is still current) for the database.  Your form will also serve to update the Monte Sano Community Email Newsletter list.

Huntsville Obedience Training Club Dog Fair 2010               
The Huntsville Obedience Training Club will hold a Dog Fair on Saturday, September 25th from 9am to 3 pm at Monte Sano State Park (free with $5.00 park admission). Attractions include: public participation agility and rally, freestyle demonstrations, parade of breeds, microchipping clinic ($25/dog), Canine Good Citizen® test, lots of games and prizes and adoptable dogs.  All dogs must be on-leash. FOUND DOG

Dumped into fenced yard on Crescent Cir.   Small.  Sort of dachshund build w/ black/brown coloring, but terrier-like hair and face.  Approx. 8 wks old.  Very cute, friendly.   We suspect it could be a snatched dog,  later dumped.  Being well cared for with suitors for adoption.  So call and identify if you're the owner.  Gary Clark    Cell:     (256) 655 7981

Word of Caution...To whoever took the ripe tomatoes from the vines in my front yard, the vines were accidentally sprayed with the wrong stuff and their fruit will not be safe to eat for several more days. 

The Monte Sano Historical Association is holding a  historical marker dedication and reception Sept. 26th.  to recognize the CCC camp of old.  For more information, be sure to check out their page.  Link can also be found at the Community tab above.

Monte Sano Elementary Needs Volunteers.  A great way to help our community school.  Volunteers are needed for 2 programs:

PAWS for Reading:  For those in the community with friendly canines and felines who are interested in being a Reading Buddy at our school.  Bring your pet and they can also enjoy a story from one of our students. 

G.A.P (Grandparents Adoption Program):  Reading and Math Buddy- Mondays, Wednesdays 2:25-2:45

Volunteer forms are available in the main office.

Hall of Fame: The school is also involved in a new program that recognizes those in the community who have made significant contributions to MSES. Forms are available at the MSES site.
