The meeting was called to order by President MaryLynn Perry at the home of Liz Thornton.
Earle Self reported that Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle will be the key speaker at the MSCA potluck on Tuesday, October 18. However, he will be attending an earlier meeting that evening so other speakers, possibly Kent Wilborn or Soos Weber, will need to speak first. (Mayor Battle later requested an earlier time to speak so that he could attend another event afterwards.)
All newsletter articles need to be sent to Kyle Siegrist as well as next year's MSCA Board nominees and their bios as soon as possible.
Liz Thornton will get the signs for the potluck. She is preparing six welcome packages for new Monte Sano residents.
Bob gave the Treasurer's report. A copy is in the Minutes notebook.
Jan Miller will write a thank you note to the Hughes family for their donation to the Monte Sano Park's Gatehouse renovation in memory of their son, Mark. A copy of their letter and donation is in the Minutes notebook.
Vice President Nancy Robertson offered to take meeting notes for Jan Miller in October and November.
The next MSCA Board Adopt-A-Mile Cleanup will be Saturday, September 24. Board members will meet at the top of Fearn St. at 9:30 AM
