Monte Sano Civic Association

Board Meeting, 16 May 2011

Members present: Bob Crook, Gene Ezell, Jan Miller, MaryLynn Perry, Nancy Robertson, Earle Self, Kyle Siegrist, Liz Thornton.

The meeting was called to order by President MaryLynn Perry at the home of Liz Thornton.

Nancy Robertson moved that last month’s Minutes be approved. Earle Self seconded. Motion passed. A copy is filed in the Minutes notebook.

Gene Ezell reported that the Gate Keeper’s house in the Monte Sano State Park could be renovated. Soos Weber is working on two grants to renovate it into an Interpretive Center possibly for historical memorabilia.

Kyle Siegrist announced the next newsletter will be mailed in late June to MSCA members only and asked for articles to be sent to him by June 3. The following newsletter will be sent the end of September informing the membership of the October potluck meeting which will be on October 11th or 18th.

Earle Self will talk further with Bob Crook regarding the 45 page application needed for the MSCA non-exempt status.

Jan Miller suggested having another garage sale in September due to the rainy weather the day of the April 14 sale. That possibility will be addressed later in the summer.

Bob Crook gave the Treasurer’s report.

MaryLynn will get the remainder of the directories from Greg Wright for distribution. She reported a correction in the date of the Monte Sano Pool Association invitation to the MSCA. The Monte Sano Civic Association has been invited to enjoy the pool on Labor Day weekend (instead of Memorial Day weekend) free of charge. A band will be playing on Sunday.

The next MSCA Board Adopt-A-Mile Cleanup will be Saturday, May 21. Workers will meet at the top of Fearn St. at 10:00 a.m. and afterwards clean up the corner marker area on Panorama and Monte Sano Blvd.
