The meeting was called to order by President MaryLynn Perry at the home of Greg Wright.
MaryLynn moved that last month's Minutes be approved. Liz Thornton seconded. Motion passed. A copy is filed in the Minutes notebook.
Ed Starnes gave an overview of the upcoming city school situation to the Board. He explained that school capacity is comprised of the number of students in the classroom multiplied by the number of classrooms. A copy of his notes is in the Minutes notebook.
Susan (Soos) Weber will be conducting a workshop on April 4, and possibly a second workshop on April 26, informing Monte Sano residents how they can develop a backyard wildlife habitat for the National Wildlife Federation Certification. She will be a guest speaker at the MSCA potluck meeting on April 19.
MaryLynn will contact Treasurer Bob Crook to pay the $25 application fee associated with the National Wildlife Certification.
The Board voted on Community Wildlife Habitat of Historic Monte Sano
as the name for the National Wildlife Federation project title.
Greg Wright will collect ten photos used in the MSUMC Light on the Mountain
calendar for the habitat team.
Liz Thornton mentioned that Jane Barr wants a permanent place to put Monte Sano artifacts where they can be seen by residents and visitors to Monte Sano. Gene Ezell will talk with Kent Wilbourn for suggestions.
Jan Miller will call St. Vincent de Paul's Thrift Store regarding having a truck at the Little Green Store to collect unsold items on May 7 after the mountain garage sale ends.
The MSCA Board Adopt-A-Mile Cleanup will be Saturday, March 26 at 10:00 am unless it is raining.
Board members are to bring main course entrees for the MSCA potluck dinner on April 19 and meet at the lodge at 4:00pm to setup. Meet and Greet will begin at 6:00pm; dinner will be at 6:30pm and the speakers will begin at 7:00pm.
