Monte Sano Civic Association, Inc.

We the undersigned duly elected Trustees of the Monte Sano Civic Association, acting in pursuance of a resolution passed by its Board of Directors, which is its governing body, and being desirous of forming a corporation under the laws of the State of Alabama, do hereby file this Certificate of Incorporation and certify as follows:

  1. That the name of the association is Monte Sano Civic Association, Inc.
  2. That the principal location of the principal office of said Monte Sano Civic Association, Inc. is in the City of Huntsville, Alabama; but that said Association shall have the power and authority to own property and to transact its business in any other place in the State of Alabama.
  3. That the Monte Sano Civic Association has been operating and in existence for a period of more than one year as a non-incorporated, non-profit Association.
  4. That it is created for the purpose of promoting interest in Monte Sano Mountain as a well-regulated, happy and attractive residential area; to promote the proper use, management and development of property; to propagate, preserve and protect the natural growth of trees and flowers, wildlife and natural resources; to provide, develop and maintain a playground area or areas for the residents of Monte Sano Mountain; to properly mark the streets, avenues and thoroughfares for the information and convenience of the traveling public; to publish authentic information regarding the opportunities and attractions of Monte Sano Mountain; to assist persons desiring to visit or to become permanent residents of Monte Sano Mountain; to participate in activities for the general development and promotion of Monte Sano Mountain; to cooperate with all governmental agencies or other communities or interested groups by initiating or assisting similar activities in the interest of Monte Sano Mountain; to do all acts and things necessary or convenient in furthering the purposes herein set forth.
  5. That the Directors of the Monte Sano Civic Association did by majority vote at its regular meeting held August 22, 1954, signify its desire and intention to become incorporated under Article 3, Chapter 7, Title 10 of the Code of Alabama of 1940, and did elect the following members to act as Trustees for the said Federation for such purpose and did instruct them to file a Certificate of Incorporation with the Probate Judge of Madison County, Alabama, incorporating the Monte Sano Civic Association.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we the hereunto set our signatures to this Certificate of Incorporation on this the 14th day of September, 1954.
